sun vs earth

science demos have you ever stepped outside at night looked into the sky and noticed all those little tiny dots of light well through science we've discovered that almost all of those dots of light are stars the big idea today is that stars make their own light planets like the one we live in they actually reflect that light the closest star to our planet is the Sun and if the earth were this big the Sun would be that big so let's talk about planets and stars so which one's the planet and which one's the star well stars make their own life stars are big and they're made of lots of different gases planets do not make their own light and they're usually smaller and nice and hard and rocky I can only see this planet because light from this star is bouncing off of it in fact through science we've discovered there are eight planets in our solar system and the only reason we can see them is because light from our star the Sun bounces off of them so think back to that night sky all those dots of light and most of them are stars and those stars are really far away and really really big stars
